Overview

A nationally recognized construction and engineering organization is seeking an experienced M/E Engineer III to support the design, analysis, estimating, commissioning, and construction execution of complex mechanical and electrical building systems.

This role works closely with preconstruction, project management, field operations, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical & Electrical Engineering

  • Develop budgetary mechanical and electrical estimates from schematic and design documents.

  • Evaluate and recommend optimal MEP system solutions.

  • Perform systems analysis and provide value engineering recommendations.

  • Coordinate mechanical and electrical scopes throughout bidding and construction phases.

  • Support project scheduling through system sequencing and constructability planning.

Construction & Commissioning

  • Perform field inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.

  • Review and approve shop drawings and submittals.

  • Lead commissioning activities, including:

    • Pre-functional checklists

    • Functional testing procedures

    • Performance verification

    • Deficiency resolution

  • Generate and manage commissioning plans and documentation.

Quality & Project Support

  • Review design documents and identify constructability or quality concerns.

  • Assist with subcontractor evaluations and bid analysis.

  • Support quality control initiatives throughout project execution.

  • Create innovative tools and process improvements to enhance project delivery.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor junior engineers and project team members.

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
