Overview

A nationally recognized construction and engineering organization is seeking an experienced M/E Engineer III to support the design, analysis, estimating, commissioning, and construction execution of complex mechanical and electrical building systems.

This role works closely with preconstruction, project management, field operations, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical & Electrical Engineering

  • Develop budgetary mechanical and electrical estimates from schematic and design documents.

  • Evaluate and recommend optimal MEP system solutions.

  • Perform systems analysis and provide value engineering recommendations.

  • Coordinate mechanical and electrical scopes throughout bidding and construction phases.

  • Support project scheduling through system sequencing and constructability planning.

Construction & Commissioning

  • Perform field inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.

  • Review and approve shop drawings and submittals.

  • Lead commissioning activities, including:

    • Pre-functional checklists

    • Functional testing procedures

    • Performance verification

    • Deficiency resolution

  • Generate and manage commissioning plans and documentation.

Quality & Project Support

  • Review design documents and identify constructability or quality concerns.

  • Assist with subcontractor evaluations and bid analysis.

  • Support quality control initiatives throughout project execution.

  • Create innovative tools and process improvements to enhance project delivery.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor junior engineers and project team members.

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Electrical Engineering

    • Architectural Engineering

    • Related Engineering Discipline

Experience

  • 5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience preferred.

  • Experience supporting commercial construction projects involving MEP systems.

Position: Senior Project Manager

We are a leading provider of mission-critical infrastructure delivery, with over 20 years of experience in technical project delivery. Our team has set the standard for building the critical power and cooling infrastructure that supports data centers.

Role Overview:

This position is responsible for the overall strategy of the project management team, overseeing multiple projects’ design, procurement, and construction, including cost, schedule, and quality control. The Senior Project Manager will manage all aspects of client projects, including sub-consultants, contractors, site management teams, design teams, contract administration, and construction accounting. The role also involves coordinating team bandwidth requirements with resource management and mentoring project management staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management:

  • Manage multiple clients, ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Build on established client accounts and identify future business opportunities.

  • Keep clients informed about the process, deliverables, and necessary decisions during the project.

  • Lead project teams to meet client expectations for deliverables and communication.

  • Act as an escalation point for customer-facing issues and implement corrective actions.

Team Management:

  • Set clear goals and expectations for all project management team members.

  • Organize regular team meetings to monitor project progress, design, documentation, and construction status.

  • Conduct regular owner’s status meetings and ensure proper staffing of key positions.

  • Oversee team training (e.g., quality control, OSHA safety certifications).

Project Strategy:

  • Maintain the project budget and provide accurate forecasts of costs.

  • Lead decision-making processes and problem-solving efforts for project execution strategies.

  • Coordinate and lead client meetings, preparing meeting minutes and tracking action items.

  • Review and prepare scopes of work, schedule requirements, and manage subcontractors and change orders.

Staff Development:

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 5-8 years of field and previous project management experience.

  • 2-4 years of direct management experience with employees and subcontractors.

  • Proven ability to lead teams through conflict resolution, motivation, and problem-solving.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expertise in all aspects of project management.

  • High-level understanding of construction techniques, including HVAC, electrical, low voltage systems, plumbing, framing, building envelope systems, and environmental issues.

  • Advanced skills in cost estimating, project scheduling, and contract management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Project Scheduling, and Adobe Acrobat; Timberline experience is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.

  • Professional certifications such as Project Management Institute (PMI) or Professional Engineer (PE).

Compensation: The annual salary for this role ranges from $120,000 to $185,000, depending on experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This position is also eligible for short-term and long-term incentives.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular use of hands for manipulating objects or controls.

  • Periodic standing, walking, bending, and reaching above the shoulders.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

  • Regular computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
