🏗️ Overview

A leading national construction firm is seeking a Project Manager II to lead and manage moderately complex construction projects or major portions of large-scale projects within the Santa Clara market.

This role is responsible for the full operational and administrative management of projects from preconstruction through closeout, including budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, risk mitigation, safety leadership, and client coordination.

The ideal candidate is a strong construction leader with proven experience managing commercial construction projects, driving financial performance, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead day-to-day project operations and administration

  • Manage project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout

  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams

  • Drive project execution aligned with safety, quality, schedule, and profitability goals

Safety & Risk Management

  • Champion company safety culture and maintain an injury-free environment

  • Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions as needed

  • Identify and proactively manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle

  • Coordinate subcontractor bonding, insurance, and risk analysis activities

Budgeting, Cost Control & Forecasting

  • Develop and manage project budgets and cost forecasts

  • Review project costs against budget and identify discrepancies

  • Prepare monthly cost and margin forecasts with project teams

  • Support change order management and owner billing processes

Scheduling & Construction Planning

  • Develop and maintain project schedules alongside field leadership

  • Coordinate procurement, labor, materials, and subcontractor sequencing

  • Identify schedule risks and implement mitigation strategies

  • Apply Lean construction principles where appropriate

Contract & Subcontractor Management

  • Lead buyout processes and subcontractor selection

  • Review scopes, pricing, and gap analyses

  • Manage subcontract agreements and project documentation

  • Coordinate submittals, RFIs, and shop drawing approvals

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead OAC (Owner/Architect/Contractor) meetings and project reviews

  • Maintain strong client and partner relationships

  • Support business development and community engagement efforts

  • Deliver regular project reporting and profitability updates

✅ Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

  • 7+ years of construction management experience

  • Strong experience managing commercial construction projects

  • Advanced knowledge of:

    • Project Management

    • Cost Control

    • Scheduling

  • Valid driver’s license required

About the Role
As a Construction Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in reviewing design and bidding documents, evaluating contractor bids, and monitoring construction progress and schedules. You will provide vital technical support to construction staff under the supervision of a Project Manager. This role involves working on moderately complex projects, primarily in a support capacity, and requires regular travel (80% or more).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing cost estimates and preconstruction activities.

  • Engage subcontractors to build project interest and secure bids.

  • Review plans, technical documents, and answer scope or timing questions.

  • Track and manage project documentation, including RFIs and submittals.

  • Maintain project records and schedules in coordination with the team.

  • Support conflict resolution among owners, contractors, and subcontractors.

  • Handle permitting processes and SWPPP documentation.

  • Coordinate project change orders and assist with monthly subcontractor billings.

  • Ensure site safety documentation and manage project closeout activities.

Position: Senior Project Manager

We are a leading provider of mission-critical infrastructure delivery, with over 20 years of experience in technical project delivery. Our team has set the standard for building the critical power and cooling infrastructure that supports data centers.

Role Overview:

This position is responsible for the overall strategy of the project management team, overseeing multiple projects’ design, procurement, and construction, including cost, schedule, and quality control. The Senior Project Manager will manage all aspects of client projects, including sub-consultants, contractors, site management teams, design teams, contract administration, and construction accounting. The role also involves coordinating team bandwidth requirements with resource management and mentoring project management staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management:

  • Manage multiple clients, ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Build on established client accounts and identify future business opportunities.

  • Keep clients informed about the process, deliverables, and necessary decisions during the project.

  • Lead project teams to meet client expectations for deliverables and communication.

  • Act as an escalation point for customer-facing issues and implement corrective actions.

Team Management:

  • Set clear goals and expectations for all project management team members.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 5-8 years of field and previous project management experience.

  • 2-4 years of direct management experience with employees and subcontractors.

  • Proven ability to lead teams through conflict resolution, motivation, and problem-solving.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expertise in all aspects of project management.

  • High-level understanding of construction techniques, including HVAC, electrical, low voltage systems, plumbing, framing, building envelope systems, and environmental issues.

  • Advanced skills in cost estimating, project scheduling, and contract management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Project Scheduling, and Adobe Acrobat; Timberline experience is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Compensation: The annual salary for this role ranges from $120,000 to $185,000, depending on experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This position is also eligible for short-term and long-term incentives.
