Help Optimize Emergency Care Through Epic

A leading healthcare organization is seeking two experienced Senior Epic Application Analysts to support, develop and optimize its Epic environment, with a primary focus on Epic ASAP and Emergency Department workflows.

This senior-level position will translate clinical and operational requirements into effective Epic solutions. The successful candidate will perform complex analysis, design, configuration, testing, implementation and production support while partnering closely with Emergency Department clinicians, operational leaders, technical teams and other application analysts.

This opportunity is suited to an experienced Epic professional who understands Emergency Department operations, can independently resolve complex application issues and enjoys mentoring less-experienced analysts.

Certification Requirements

An active Epic certification is required.

Certification preference will be considered in the following order:

  1. Epic ASAP certification – strongly preferred

  2. Epic ClinDoc certification

  3. Epic Ambulatory certification

Candidates without Epic ASAP certification must still demonstrate relevant Emergency Department experience and strong transferable Epic application expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Epic ASAP and Emergency Department Support

  • Provide ongoing application support for Epic ASAP and Emergency Department workflows.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of clinical, operational and business requirements.

  • Partner with Emergency Department clinicians and leaders to identify workflow challenges.

  • Translate user and departmental requirements into effective Epic configurations and technical solutions.

  • Support patient-care workflows while maintaining system reliability, usability and safety.

  • Evaluate requests and recommend solutions that improve clinical efficiency and user experience.

  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for Epic ASAP functionality and Emergency Department operations.

Application Analysis and Build

  • Perform intermediate-to-advanced Epic application analysis, design, build, testing and implementation.

  • Configure Epic functionality in accordance with approved requirements and technical standards.

  • Conduct workflow reviews and process walkthroughs with clinical and operational stakeholders.

  • Analyse the effect of proposed changes across connected applications, departments and workflows.

  • Develop solutions that improve user productivity and departmental service levels.

  • Apply established information-systems methodologies throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, decisions and technical changes.

Testing and Implementation

  • Develop and execute unit, integrated and regression-testing activities.

  • Coordinate testing with clinical users, operational stakeholders and other application teams.

  • Document defects, expected results and final resolutions.

  • Support user-acceptance testing and implementation-readiness activities.

  • Assist with Epic upgrades, enhancements, optimisation initiatives and new functionality.

  • Participate in go-live planning, implementation and post-production support.

  • Monitor implemented changes and resolve issues affecting clinical operations.

Production Support

  • Provide ongoing support to Epic users.

  • Troubleshoot complex application, workflow and integration problems.

  • Analyse reported issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.

  • Work with technical and clinical teams to resolve cross-application incidents.

  • Maintain clear communication with users throughout the resolution process.

  • Escalate issues appropriately when broader technical or operational assistance is required.

  • Participate regularly in the rotating after-hours technical-support schedule.

Project Planning and Coordination

  • Develop, prioritise and execute assigned projects according to established schedules.

  • Balance production support, enhancements, testing and project responsibilities.

  • Maintain effective coordination across all assigned work.

  • Document project plans, priorities, milestones and schedules.

  • Provide the Manager with regular updates regarding assignment status, risks and dependencies.

  • Identify potential delays and communicate concerns before they affect delivery.

  • Support multiple concurrent initiatives within a complex healthcare environment.

Technical Standards and Governance

  • Advocate for consistent technical-development and application-support standards.

  • Follow established Epic, information-management and change-control practices.

  • Help enforce documentation, testing and implementation standards.

  • Support the safe and reliable operation of clinical applications.

  • Identify opportunities to improve application-support processes and system quality.

  • Ensure changes comply with organizational policies and healthcare technology requirements.

Training and Mentorship

  • Contribute to the preparation and delivery of staff training.

  • Develop supporting materials and application documentation.

  • Explain Epic functionality and workflow changes clearly to clinical and operational users.

  • Assist and mentor less-experienced analysts.

  • Serve as a preceptor, technical resource and subject-matter expert.

  • Promote knowledge sharing and professional development across the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Epic certification.

  • Epic ASAP certification is strongly preferred; Epic ClinDoc or Ambulatory certification may be considered as an alternative.

  • At least four years of Epic Application Analyst experience.

  • Experience working within or directly supporting an Emergency Department.

  • Progressively responsible experience involving healthcare information systems.

  • Experience with system analysis, design, configuration, testing and implementation.

  • Intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of Epic application-support tools and methodologies.

  • Experience resolving complex application and workflow problems.

  • Previous experience assisting or mentoring other analysts.

  • Understanding of hospital operations and clinical workflows.

  • Strong analytical skills and technical aptitude.

  • Effective planning, prioritisation and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication, collaboration and customer-service capabilities.

  • Demonstrated growth in the ability to lead and influence others.

Position Overview

A leading manufacturing organization is seeking three experienced Maintenance Mechanics to support a high-speed production and packaging facility in Chicago.

This hands-on position is responsible for maintaining the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of processing, packaging, and facility equipment. Working with limited supervision in a team-based environment, the Maintenance Mechanic will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, complete mechanical repairs, and help minimize production downtime.

Candidates must be available to work either second or third shift.

Key Responsibilities

Preventive Maintenance and CMMS

  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance activities across production and facility equipment.

  • Document maintenance work, work orders, repairs, and equipment improvements using SAP Plant Maintenance.

  • Maintain accurate equipment and maintenance records within the plant’s computerized maintenance management system.

  • Use condition-monitoring equipment, including thermography cameras and ultrasound tools.

  • Identify potential equipment failures before they interrupt production.

Mechanical Troubleshooting and Repair

  • Diagnose, repair, and replace defective components on high-speed processing and packaging equipment.

  • Troubleshoot pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, and foundational electrical systems.

  • Perform basic machining, welding, fabrication, and mechanical adjustment work.

  • Complete root-cause analysis for recurring equipment failures.

  • Respond quickly to live breakdown calls and restore equipment performance safely.

  • Follow the correct testing and diagnostic sequence for complex processing equipment.

Technical Documentation

  • Read and interpret:

    • Mechanical and electrical schematics

    • Piping and instrumentation diagrams

    • Blueprints

    • Block diagrams

    • Equipment drawings and sketches

  • Use technical documentation to support equipment diagnostics, repairs, and improvements.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

  • Work alongside engineers, electricians, boiler room personnel, production teams, and technical specialists.

  • Communicate equipment status and outstanding maintenance requirements during shift handovers.

  • Help identify and resolve recurring operational problems.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives involving TPM, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Share technical knowledge and contribute to the development of other team members.

Safety and Equipment Operation

  • Follow all Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work, and Confined Space procedures.

  • Work in accordance with NEC and NFPA requirements.

  • Safely operate forklifts, man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and other material-handling equipment.

  • Comply with GMP, HACCP, QCMS, health-code, and food-safety requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • At least two to four years of hands-on experience as a Maintenance Mechanic within a manufacturing environment, or successful completion of an approved apprenticeship or technical training program.
