What You'll Be Doing
Enterprise Middleware Administration
Design, build, maintain, and optimize enterprise application hosting platforms
Administer complex IBM WebSphere and Oracle WebLogic environments
Configure and manage clustered middleware environments
Implement secure, highly available, and scalable platform solutions
Perform platform upgrades, migrations, and modernization activities
Ensure platform reliability, availability, and performance across production environments
Platform Engineering & Automation
Drive automation initiatives across platform deployment and administration activities
Develop and maintain scripts, tooling, and automation frameworks
Support CI/CD pipeline integration and deployment automation
Improve operational efficiency through infrastructure and platform automation
Implement repeatable engineering standards and best practices
Performance Optimization & Reliability
Monitor and optimize middleware platform performance
Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning activities
Troubleshoot complex platform, application, and infrastructure issues
Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions
Support business-critical applications with a focus on uptime and stability
Security & Compliance
Implement security best practices across middleware environments
Manage SSL/TLS certificates and secure communications
Support authentication and authorization solutions including LDAP and SSO
Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards and policies
Partner with security teams on platform hardening initiatives
Cloud & Containerization Initiatives
Support modernization efforts involving cloud-hosted middleware platforms
Participate in containerization initiatives utilizing Docker and Kubernetes
Assist with migration and transformation projects
Help establish best practices for modern application hosting environments
Collaboration & Technical Leadership
Partner with developers, architects, product teams, and infrastructure teams
Support complex technical initiatives from design through implementation
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Participate in technical reviews and knowledge-sharing activities
Create and maintain platform documentation, standards, and procedures
What We're Looking For
Required Experience
5+ years of enterprise platform engineering, middleware administration, or infrastructure engineering experience
Deep expertise in IBM WebSphere and/or Oracle WebLogic administration
Experience managing highly available and clustered environments
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning capabilities
Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise applications
Ability to work independently while collaborating across distributed teams
