Overview
A leading national healthcare organization is seeking a Manager of Finance Technology Application Support to lead the team responsible for supporting and optimizing its enterprise Oracle Finance environment.
This is a highly visible, hands-on working-manager position requiring a strong combination of Oracle Finance expertise, production application support, people leadership, vendor management and business partnership.
The successful candidate will lead internal employees and managed-service resources supporting Oracle Fusion Finance applications and related financial processes. The environment includes General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Projects, Cost Accounting and several connected applications and integrations.
This is not a purely people-management, infrastructure or end-user support role. The Manager must possess sufficient functional and application-level Oracle Finance expertise to understand complex production issues, challenge assumptions, guide technical and functional resources and become personally involved in troubleshooting and resolution when required.
Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day functional and application support across the Oracle Finance environment.
Provide hands-on leadership during complex production incidents, service interruptions and escalations.
Investigate issues, guide troubleshooting and ensure problems are driven through to resolution.
Perform and oversee root-cause analysis to prevent recurring incidents.
Maintain the operational stability, reliability and performance of critical Finance applications.
Proactively identify risks and resolve issues before they significantly affect Finance operations.
Ensure support documentation, procedures and knowledge resources remain accurate and current.
Oracle Finance Modules
Oversee the support and optimization of Oracle financial modules and related processes, including:
General Ledger
Accounts Payable
Accounts Receivable
Fixed Assets
Cash Management

Related financial integrations and reporting platforms
Oracle Fusion Finance experience is strongly preferred, although candidates with substantial Oracle E-Business Suite Financials experience may also be considered.
Team Leadership
Lead and develop a team of internal Finance Technology employees and managed-service professionals.
Establish clear priorities, responsibilities and performance expectations.
Coach team members and support their professional and technical development.
Manage workload allocation across production incidents, service requests, enhancements, releases and strategic projects.
Conduct performance-management activities and promote a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
Remain approachable and actively work alongside the team when complex issues arise.
Production Support and Incident Management
Manage and prioritize production issues based on business impact, urgency and operational risk.
Lead the response to critical Oracle Finance incidents and escalations.
Coordinate technical, functional, integration and vendor resources during issue resolution.
Communicate status, risks, business impact and recovery plans to Finance and Technology leadership.
Monitor recurring issues and implement permanent corrective actions.
Establish processes and controls that improve service stability and responsiveness.
Enhancements, Testing and Releases
Balance production-support responsibilities with system enhancements, testing, releases and project delivery.
Prioritize enhancement requests based on business value, risk, resources and strategic alignment.
Lead and support application upgrades, patches and Finance-system releases.
Coordinate functional testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing and production-readiness activities.
Ensure releases are appropriately documented, controlled and communicated.
Partner with Release Management and business stakeholders to minimize operational disruption.
Finance Business Partnership
Build strong relationships with Finance leadership, Finance Operations and facility-based Finance stakeholders.
Develop a clear understanding of Accounting and Finance processes, priorities and operational challenges.
Translate business requirements into effective application-support, enhancement and technology solutions.
Serve as a trusted partner for Oracle Finance application strategy, operational support and continuous improvement.
Communicate technical issues and recommendations clearly to non-technical Finance stakeholders.
Help Finance leaders understand available system capabilities, limitations, risks and opportunities.
Integration and Data Support
Partner with Data and Integration teams to investigate interface failures and financial-data issues.
Support reliable movement of financial data between Oracle and connected enterprise applications.
Coordinate troubleshooting across applications, interfaces, reporting platforms and external services.
Ensure integration failures are identified, escalated and resolved promptly.
Support improvements to monitoring, controls and data-reconciliation processes.
Vendor and Managed-Service Management
Manage third-party application-support vendors and managed-service partners.
Establish performance expectations, service levels and accountability measures.
Monitor vendor responsiveness, quality, delivery and issue-resolution performance.
Manage escalations and challenge vendors when service expectations are not being met.
Coordinate external resources across production support, enhancements, testing and strategic initiatives.
Build productive vendor relationships while maintaining clear ownership and accountability.
