Overview

An award-winning acute care hospital in the Cypress/Houston area is seeking an experienced RN Clinical Manager to lead its Operating Room team. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing daily OR operations, staffing, quality outcomes, and team development while partnering with physicians and interdisciplinary leaders to ensure exceptional patient care.

The department features 8 Operating Rooms with a diverse surgical case mix, including a strong emphasis on Robotics and a growing Neurosurgery Program.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Operational Leadership

  • Manage daily operations of the Operating Room department.

  • Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care delivery.

  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, productivity, and resource utilization.

  • Serve as a clinical resource and provide direct patient care when needed.

  • Monitor departmental performance and implement quality improvement initiatives.

Team Management

  • Recruit, retain, mentor, and develop nursing staff.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback.

  • Foster employee engagement and professional development.

  • Support ongoing education, competency validation, and succession planning.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and Texas Board of Nursing standards.

  • Lead patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with physicians and hospital leadership on strategic goals and operational improvements.

  • Promote exceptional patient experience and service excellence.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Texas RN License or Compact RN License in good standing.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience in an acute care hospital.

  • Minimum 3 years of current OR leadership experience in one of the following:

    • Supervisor

    • Assistant Clinical Manager

    • Clinical Manager

    • Director

Preferred Qualifications

  • Robotics surgery experience.

  • Neuro/Neurosurgery Operating Room experience.

  • Professional nursing or leadership certification.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Labor & Delivery RNs to join a Level 4 maternal care unit at a large, respected hospital in the Texas Medical Center. With 12 labor beds, 19 antepartum beds, and 4 swing beds, this unit handles 400–450 deliveries monthly, offering dynamic work in a high-acuity environment.

The role includes direct patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration, patient education, and involvement in clinical improvement efforts. This unit seeks compassionate professionals who thrive in fast-paced, emotionally rich settings and who are fully committed to night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality, individualized nursing care using the nursing process

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on care plans, discharge planning, and patient outcomes

  • Act as preceptor, mentor, and resource for less experienced staff

  • Adhere to state, federal, and internal clinical and safety regulations

  • Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives

  • Ensure accuracy in documentation and patient communication

Minimum Requirements

Licensure:
