A leading advanced manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead employee relations, recruitment and day-to-day HR operations at its Rochester facility.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position for an HR professional who enjoys working directly with employees, supervisors and senior leaders. You will help maintain a fair, consistent and compliant workplace while strengthening recruitment, employee engagement, leadership capability and operational performance.

You will also manage and develop a team of HR Generalists and Administrators while helping shape the policies, processes and systems that support the wider organization.

Employee Relations and Leadership Support

  • Serve as a trusted HR resource to employees, supervisors and senior leaders

  • Counsel employees and managers on workplace conflict and performance issues

  • Support disciplinary processes, including recommendations involving termination

  • Build strong relationships with employees at every level of the organization

Recruitment and Workforce Support

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for site-based positions

  • Interview candidates and make hiring recommendations

  • Prepare and present employment offers

  • Coordinate onboarding and new-employee orientation

  • Work with external recruitment partners and advertising platforms when required

  • Support managers in making effective and consistent hiring decisions

  • Strengthen recruitment processes to improve quality, efficiency and candidate experience

HR Team Management

  • Manage, coach and develop HR Generalists and HR Administrators

  • Establish departmental goals, priorities and performance expectations

Compliance, Policy and Employee Programs

  • Administer HR policies, procedures and employee programs

  • Partner with internal legal counsel on sensitive or business-critical cases

Training and Continuous Improvement

What You’ll Bring

Essential Requirements

  • At least six years of progressive Human Resources experience

  • Strong, hands-on experience in both employee relations and recruitment

  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing employees

  • Experience coaching and mentoring professionals at different organizational levels

  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws

  • Experience handling investigations, performance concerns and disciplinary actions

  • Strong policy-development and HR compliance experience

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and spreadsheet-based reporting

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong organization, prioritization and multitasking capabilities

  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment when handling sensitive matters

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline

  • Equivalent education and substantial progressive HR experience may also be considered

  • Previous HR leadership experience within manufacturing, electronics, industrial operations or another complex site-based environment

  • Experience managing HR Generalists, Coordinators or Administrators

  • Experience working with unemployment claims, legal hearings or internal employment counsel

  • Familiarity with continuous-improvement tools and methodologies

  • Experience supporting multicultural or geographically dispersed teams

  • Working knowledge of WebEx or comparable virtual-meeting platforms

The successful candidate will be a visible, approachable and action-oriented HR leader who is equally comfortable advising senior management and supporting employees on the manufacturing floor.

You should be able to balance empathy with sound judgment, protect confidentiality and make fair, defensible decisions. You will also need the confidence to challenge appropriately, influence cross-functional leaders and take ownership of difficult employee-relations matters.

This position is particularly well suited to someone who combines strong operational HR knowledge with a genuine passion for developing people, improving processes and building a positive workplace culture.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base salary for this position is $90,000–$110,000 per year.

Individual compensation will be determined by several factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, certifications, experience, training, internal compensation data and wider business requirements.

Job Description

The Training Manager will collaborate with the BWP team members on all training areas, as it relates to the plant’s training needs.
