Emergency Department

Care for patients across all age groups in a fast-paced environment where critical thinking, rapid assessment, and decisive action make a real difference.

Medical-Surgical Unit

Deliver comprehensive inpatient care, coordinate treatment plans, educate patients and families, and build strong therapeutic relationships throughout the recovery journey.

Cardiac Cath Lab

Support patients through diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures while working closely with cardiologists and procedural teams in a highly specialized environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Administer medications safely and accurately

  • Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Current RN License in Iowa OR Compact Multistate RN License

  • Current BLS Certification

  • Iowa Mandatory Reporter – Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program

Additional Qualifications by Specialty

Emergency Department

  • ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (or willingness to obtain within required timeframes)

Cardiac Cath Lab

  • ACLS Certification

  • Previous Cath Lab, ICU, Critical Care, or Emergency Nursing experience preferred

Medical-Surgical

  • Previous Med-Surg experience preferred but not required

Job Description

Job Summary

The Director of Women’s Services will oversee the Labor and Delivery Unit, Postpartum, and Nursery/NICU Units while reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient nursing care, maintaining clinical competency, and effectively managing resources within the department.

This leader will assume 24/7 responsibility for planning, coordinating, and evaluating nursing practices within the units. Responsibilities include supervising nursing personnel, setting strategic goals, managing performance objectives, and developing/revising policies to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality care standards. Additional duties include budget management, patient experience oversight, staff development, recruitment, hiring, and training, as well as serving on committees. The director may provide direct patient care as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an active NC RN license

  • Exhibit strong leadership, communication, and operational skills

  • Serve as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, federal/state regulations, and accreditation standards

  • Lead staff performance evaluations and professional development initiatives

  • Monitor budgets, manage audits, and coordinate external/internal compliance
