Key Responsibilities

Psychological Assessment & Evaluation

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological screenings and assessments.

  • Review available records and perform clinical interviews.

  • Evaluate psychological functioning and identify treatment needs.

  • Document findings and provide recommendations for ongoing care.

Treatment Planning & Intervention

  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans.

  • Provide evidence-based psychological interventions and counseling.

  • Monitor treatment progress and adjust plans as needed.

  • Support individuals experiencing acute mental health crises.

Crisis Management & Behavioral Support

  • Conduct mental health evaluations for individuals experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties.

  • Provide counseling and intervention services during crisis situations.

  • Assist in de-escalation and confrontation avoidance strategies.

  • Monitor mental health status and respond appropriately to changes in condition.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Partner closely with:

    • Psychiatrists

    • Physicians

    • Nurses

    • Social Workers

    • Mental Health Professionals

    • Educational Staff

    • Chaplain Services

    • Security Personnel

  • Participate in treatment planning discussions and case reviews.

  • Ensure continuity of care and integrated treatment delivery.

Clinical Monitoring

  • Conduct regular rounds in restricted or specialized housing environments.

  • Assess adjustment, coping, and ongoing treatment needs.

  • Monitor behavioral and psychological changes.

  • Ensure appropriate follow-up care and intervention.

Required Qualifications

✔ Doctoral Degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university

✔ Current, unrestricted license to practice Psychology in the State of California

✔ Minimum of 2 years of clinical psychology experience

✔ At least 1 year of experience in a comparable position

✔ Must be at least 21 years of age

✔ Valid Driver's License

✔ Strong knowledge of:

  • Psychological assessment

  • Clinical interviewing

  • Individual counseling

  • Treatment planning

  • Crisis intervention

  • Behavioral health management

Preferred Qualifications

⭐ Experience within correctional, detention, forensic, or secure treatment environments
