Role Summary

We are seeking a highly capable ServiceNow Developer to support a large‑scale enterprise IT Asset Management (ITAM) programme for a strategic client operating complex, high‑value infrastructure environments.

The role will focus on delivering and extending a ServiceNow‑based ITAM solution, initially centred on large‑scale GPU, data centre and cloud infrastructure, with expansion to the wider IT estate. You will work as part of a structured delivery team alongside architects, data specialists and integration engineers, contributing hands‑on configuration, development and integration across the ServiceNow platform.

This is a delivery‑focused role suited to an experienced ServiceNow professional with strong ITAM, CMDB, ITOM and integration expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and develop ServiceNow ITAM solutions aligned to a defined asset lifecycle (planning through disposal)

  • Implement and extend Hardware Asset Management (HAM Pro) and Software Asset Management (SAM Enterprise)

  • Design and configure CMDB classes, attributes, relationships and reconciliation logic

  • Develop and optimise asset lifecycle workflows using Flow Designer and Business Rules

  • Support large‑scale automated discovery using MID Servers and ServiceNow Discovery

  • Build and maintain integrations with:

    • Procurement systems (e.g. Coupa)

    • ERP / finance systems (SAP / Dynamics)

    • Cloud platforms and security tools

  • Implement data imports, transforms and reconciliation rules for legacy data migration

  • Develop custom scripts and platform logic using JavaScript and ServiceNow APIs

  • Configure dashboards, reports and KPIs supporting IT, Finance and Governance stakeholders

  • Support testing, UAT, go‑live and hypercare phases

  • Produce technical documentation and support knowledge transfer to client teams

  • Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to ensure solutions align with ServiceNow best practices


Required Technical Skills

  • Strong hands‑on development experience on the ServiceNow platform

  • Proven experience with:

    • Hardware Asset Management (HAM / HAM Pro)

    • Software Asset Management (SAM Enterprise)

    • CMDB and CSDM concepts

  • Solid understanding of ITOM Discovery and Service Mapping

  • Strong scripting skills:

    • JavaScript

    • Business Rules

    • Script Includes

    • Client Scripts

    • UI Policies / UI Actions

  • Integration experience using:

    • REST and SOAP APIs

    • IntegrationHub / Workflow Data Fabric

    • MID Servers

  • Experience with:

    • Import Sets and Transform Maps

    • Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE)

  • Reporting using Platform Analytics / Performance Analytics

  • Understanding of ITIL‑aligned processes and enterprise service management

Desired Experience

  • Typically 5–10+ years overall IT experience, with strong ServiceNow specialisation

  • Demonstrated delivery experience in:

    • Enterprise or regulated environments

    • Large‑scale infrastructure estates (data centre, cloud, GPU / compute environments)

  • Experience working on greenfield or major transformation programmes

  • Comfortable operating in Agile or structured delivery frameworks

  • Experience mentoring junior developers or contributing to design reviews (desirable)

  • ITIL v4 Foundation (desirable)

Role Summary

The Lead ITAM Implementer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising ITAM solutions on the ServiceNow platform, with a strong focus on HAM and SAM. This role sits at the intersection of technical delivery, process design, and customer engagement.

You will lead ITAM implementations end to end, act as a subject matter expert for asset lifecycle and compliance, and work closely with architects, developers, and customer stakeholders to ensure ITAM solutions deliver measurable business value.

This is a senior, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys owning outcomes, guiding others, and engaging directly with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of ServiceNow ITAM, including HAM and SAM Pro.

  • Design and configure asset lifecycle processes, including procurement, receiving, deployment, maintenance, optimisation, and disposal.

  • Implement and optimise software asset management capabilities, including entitlement management, reconciliation, compliance, and optimisation.

  • Configure and govern hardware asset models, lifecycle workflows, and asset normalisation.

  • Work closely with Discovery, CMDB, and ITOM teams to ensure accurate asset and configuration data.

  • Design and support integrations with procurement, finance, inventory, and vendor systems.

  • Act as ITAM design authority on projects, ensuring best practice and reuse of standard components.

  • Lead customer workshops and working sessions to define ITAM requirements, processes, and operating models.

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to developers, administrators, and junior ITAM consultants.

  • Support pre-sales activities, including solution design, estimation, and responding to ITAM-related requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to expand ITAM adoption across customers and feed these into delivery roadmaps.

Experience Required

  • Strong hands-on experience implementing ServiceNow ITAM, with deep expertise in HAM and SAM.

  • Proven track record delivering enterprise ITAM implementations, ideally in consulting or partner environments.

  • Practical experience with software licensing models, entitlement management, and compliance reporting.

  • Experience working with Discovery, CMDB, and integrations to support accurate asset data.

  • Comfortable engaging directly with customer stakeholders, including IT, procurement, finance, and asset managers.

  • Experience leading delivery streams or acting as a lead consultant on ITAM-focused engagements.

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery and ITIL-aligned service management practices.

  • Strong configuration skills across HAM and SAM Pro, including workflows, rules, and reporting.
