The Opportunity
An established technology organization is seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager to lead the design and development of next-generation network visibility platforms. These advanced products combine high-speed networking, compute and FPGA resources, creating an opportunity to shape future product generations while guiding a respected multidisciplinary engineering team.
This is a hands-on leadership role covering the full hardware lifecycle, from system architecture and board design through validation, manufacturing readiness and production release. The successful candidate will bring strong technical credibility, confident people leadership and proven experience productizing complex networking or embedded hardware.
What You Will Do
• Lead all phases of hardware development, from architecture and detailed design through verification, productization and production release.
• Guide the technical direction of future network visibility platforms combining high-speed networking, compute and FPGA resources.
• Lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary team spanning hardware engineering, mechanical engineering and ECAD.
• Work closely with product management, FPGA and RTL engineering, software, compliance and manufacturing teams.
• Drive strong design practices across board design, PCB layout, signal integrity, EMC and embedded platform integration.
• Support sustaining engineering, investigate production issues and implement improvements that increase manufacturing yield and product quality.
• Contribute to the management and development of OEM relationships.
• Balance technical quality, delivery priorities, risk and long-term product strategy in a fast-moving environment.
What You Will Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of relevant hardware engineering experience.
• Direct people-management experience, including the leadership and development of cross-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Proven experience taking complex hardware from architecture through production release.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing and productizing computer networking equipment.
• Strong knowledge of high-speed networking, high-performance processors and embedded platforms.
• Practical expertise in high-speed signal integrity concepts and design practices.
• Experience applying EMC design techniques and resolving EMC non-compliance issues.
• Knowledge of PCB stackups, board design and material selection.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to work effectively across product, engineering, compliance and manufacturing functions.
• Ability to work in Austin or relocate to the area. Current US work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
