Position Overview
A long-established, farmer-owned dairy cooperative is seeking a strategic National Foodservice Sales Director to lead foodservice growth across national, regional and distributor accounts.
This role manages direct and broker-led sales activity across a Maine-to-Florida territory, with accountability for revenue, margin, volume, market share and customer growth. Candidates must be based in New England or New York.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute national foodservice sales strategies and annual operating plans.
• Identify customer trends, market opportunities and competitive threats.
• Develop business plans, volume forecasts and account-specific strategies.
• Lead relationships with national and regional distributors, operators and chain accounts.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, promotional programs and growth initiatives.
• Conduct regular customer and distributor business reviews.
• Select, manage and evaluate broker partners.
• Establish broker objectives, territories, expectations and accountability.
• Build senior relationships with strategic customers and channel partners.
• Analyze revenue, volume, margin, pricing and market-share performance.
• Understand dairy commodity markets and translate changes into commercial decisions.
• Work with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Marketing and Product teams.
• Maintain accurate forecasts, pipeline visibility and account plans.
• Travel throughout the East Coast territory approximately 40%.
Required Qualifications
• Extensive foodservice sales and national-account experience.
• Sales leadership within dairy, food manufacturing or a closely related sector.
• Strong distributor, operator, chain-account and broker relationships.
• Demonstrated success delivering profitable revenue and market-share growth.
• Strong contract, pricing and commercial-negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of dairy commodities and foodservice market dynamics.
• Strong forecasting, analytics and business-planning capability.
• Excellent executive communication and relationship-management skills.
• Residence in New England or New York.
• Ability to travel approximately 40%.
• Current U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
• Direct dairy-category sales experience.
• Experience with major national and regional foodservice distributors.
• Broker-network design and performance-management experience.
• Experience working for a cooperative or farmer-owned organization.
