Technical Skills - Essential

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years commercial experience supplemented by a Quantitative Degree from a top University: Computer Science, Engineering, Maths. We're also open to candidates straight from University if they have achieved outstanding grades & display a true passion for software by showcasing the experience they have gained from personal projects.

 

You should have previous experience working with 2/3 of the following:

FULL STACK DEVELOPER – PHP, SYMFONY, MONGODB, JAVASCRIPT - £35,000 to £55,000 - London

About the Role

As our business expands we have an opening for a Senior Full Stack (Back-end focused) Web Developer to join our small team of 9. You will be moving into a key role within our software team, playing an important role in the implementation of new features, improving performance and building a fantastic platform and experience for our users. The platforms current code is under two years old and has been well-tested. We also ensure to deploy to production several times a day. The current tech stack is PHP/Symfony 3 with MongoDb and we require somebody who can jump in quickly on the codebase. There are multiple opportunities to expand your skillset with projects in image processing, machine learning and devops on the immediate horizon. Ideally this person will be a thoughtful, well rounded software engineer with past exposure to both back and front-end development and a good understanding of modern tools, methodologies and best practice. FRONT END DEVELOPER – ES6, JavaScript, HTML, CSS - £40,000 to £60,000

About the Role

Our primary initial goal for this role is for someone to help us take our proof of concept codebase and make it production-ready, with all the bells and whistles: proper process, automated tests, quality checks, and documentation - of course, with the support of a team of developers who believe in these worthy causes. If you fancy working on a challenging but interesting product with a lot of moving parts, this is the role for you. Day to day, you'll usually be working from our friendly London based office with 2-3 other developers working on the project. The larger product team also comprises of backend and full stack developers, including devops. The team is partly remote and mostly self-organising with a flat-ish management structure, with regular syncs and good communication processes to ensure nobody gets stuck. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop technical and business skills in a fast growing startup and to exchange knowledge and skills with a passionate and experienced team.
