UX Design Expert Asset Management - £70,000 to £100,000 - London

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced designer to help drive the development of design led thinking and culture within our firm and to contribute to the user experience (UX) design of some of our key product development initiatives.

The UX Expert will work closely with product management and The Company R&D to understand business requirements of projects we undertake and be responsible for conceiving new design ideas for those projects, as well as conducting user research though a number of different methods to test and validate new product designs. The UX Expert will assist in regular reviews of product functionality to ensure that our end released products provide a compelling user experience for our clients.

The product may be web based, desktop UI or mobile application and experience in these technologies and formats is required.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the The Company product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing new designs for The Company Asset Management products.

  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for web based, desktop UI or mobile applications.

  • Assist in building a broader product design function at The Company, including recruitment and management of other designers in future.

  • Develop, improve overall design standards and processes within The Company.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of design experience, ideally within financial applications directly, or other areas where working with large amounts of data on an exception basis is key.

  • Ability to work with clients and The Company teams and design solutions that are achievable and meet the needs of our customers.

  • Extensive experience in using and developing UX design best practices to design solutions.

  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Sketch, InVision and the like is a must. Good WPF skills are a plus.

  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.

  • Flexibility to travel regularly overseas to The Company offices and client sites. (likely to include Oxford, Boston, New York, Mumbai, Tunis for example)

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.

  • Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model, to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.

  • Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.

  • Be passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation. Research and showcase knowledge in the industry’s latest trends and technologies.
