Position Overview
A respected, farmer-owned dairy manufacturer is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to lead EHS programs across its Cabot manufacturing campus.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role provides strategic and hands-on leadership across workplace safety, environmental compliance, regulatory reporting, employee training, incident investigation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead environmental, health and safety activity across the manufacturing campus.
• Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive EHS programs.
• Advise plant leadership and department managers on risks and priorities.
• Strengthen employee participation, accountability and behavior-based safety.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and state requirements.
• Monitor regulatory changes and translate them into practical operating controls.
• Maintain permits, logs, records and regulatory reports.
• Lead orientation and annual EHS training.
• Investigate incidents, injuries, environmental events and near misses.
• Apply structured root-cause analysis and manage corrective actions.
• Conduct audits, inspections, job-hazard analyses and risk assessments.
• Manage emergency preparedness and response planning.
• Track and report EHS metrics, leading and lagging indicators and improvement actions.
• Partner with Production, Maintenance, Quality and HR.
• Support local travel between nearby facilities when required.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Significant progressive EHS experience within manufacturing.
• EHS leadership experience in an active plant environment.
• Strong OSHA, EPA, DOT and state regulatory knowledge.
• Experience leading audits, investigations, risk assessments and corrective-action programs.
• Knowledge of industrial hygiene, ergonomics, environmental compliance and emergency response.
• Strong training, influencing and change-management skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Cabot and support nearby facilities.
• Current U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
• Food, beverage or dairy-manufacturing experience.
• CSP, CIH, CHMM or another recognized EHS credential.
• ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 experience.
• Behavior-based safety and employee-engagement program experience.
• Sustainability and environmental-reporting experience.
