Overview
We are seeking experienced Pediatric ECMO Specialists to join a high-performing team delivering life-saving care in a leading children’s healthcare environment. As a key member of the ECMO program, you’ll provide bedside support during high-acuity, critical care interventions using extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) technology for neonatal and pediatric patients.
This position offers the opportunity to be part of a renowned ECMO program, with more than 30 years of experience and over 500 lives treated. You’ll work in a high-volume pediatric care setting with a reputation for clinical excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric and neonatal patients receiving ECMO support 
- Respond to emergent situations and manage extracorporeal support systems during rapid response and critical care scenarios 
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate ECMO treatment and nursing interventions 
- Monitor and manage complex equipment and patient parameters to ensure safety and effectiveness of ECMO therapy 
- Adhere to protocols, regulatory standards, and infection control measures 
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of ECMO practices through training, mentoring, and data-informed care 
- Participate in evaluations, treatment planning, transfers, and discharges as part of the continuum of care 
- Maintain clear, effective communication with families, team members, and other healthcare professionals 
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) 
- Minimum 2 years of ECMO Specialist experience (pediatric or neonatal focus preferred) 
- Prior clinical experience in a NICU or pediatric critical care environment 
- Current Texas RN license (or eligible for compact/multistate license) 
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (additional certifications may be required by unit)
