Overview
We are seeking experienced Pediatric ECMO Specialists to join a high-performing team delivering life-saving care in a leading children’s healthcare environment. As a key member of the ECMO program, you’ll provide bedside support during high-acuity, critical care interventions using extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) technology for neonatal and pediatric patients.
This position offers the opportunity to be part of a renowned ECMO program, with more than 30 years of experience and over 500 lives treated. You’ll work in a high-volume pediatric care setting with a reputation for clinical excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric and neonatal patients receiving ECMO support
Respond to emergent situations and manage extracorporeal support systems during rapid response and critical care scenarios
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate ECMO treatment and nursing interventions
Monitor and manage complex equipment and patient parameters to ensure safety and effectiveness of ECMO therapy
Adhere to protocols, regulatory standards, and infection control measures
Contribute to the continuous improvement of ECMO practices through training, mentoring, and data-informed care
Participate in evaluations, treatment planning, transfers, and discharges as part of the continuum of care
Maintain clear, effective communication with families, team members, and other healthcare professionals
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Minimum 2 years of ECMO Specialist experience (pediatric or neonatal focus preferred)
Prior clinical experience in a NICU or pediatric critical care environment
Current Texas RN license (or eligible for compact/multistate license)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (additional certifications may be required by unit)

Ability to remain calm and effective during high-pressure, time-sensitive situations
