Lead Global Supply Chain Strategy in a Complex, Forward-Thinking Environment
An established leader in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Supply Chain Area Senior Manager to lead mid-to-long-term strategic supply chain initiatives. Reporting directly to the Global Director of Supply Chain, this is a high-impact leadership role focused on developing global supply strategies, managing cross-functional teams, and optimizing supplier performance and risk. You'll oversee multiple Supply Chain Managers and interface with senior leadership across operations, marketing, engineering, and customer services.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute global supply chain strategies for key commodity families.
Provide strategic leadership on risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, cost reduction, and capacity planning.
Oversee inventory turn strategies and ensure synchronization with operational and customer service demands.
Lead major initiatives related to carbon reporting, conflict minerals, and supply origin compliance.
Drive continuous improvement, maintain supplier risk measurement models, and lead skills development across teams.
Collaborate across functional areas to influence manufacturing and product design decisions.
Manage department budgets, staffing, capital planning, and succession planning.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or Engineering
15+ years of relevant industry experience
7+ years of people management experience
Expertise in buying, planning, engineering, or sourcing
Proven record in strategy development, stakeholder collaboration, and team leadership
Contract negotiation and supplier management experience
Strong knowledge of planning, manufacturing, and engineering principles
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Business or Supply Chain
Professional certifications: CPIM, CIRM, CSCP, C.P.M.
Background in Lean / Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt)
Cross-functional experience in logistics, manufacturing, or business management
