Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer will provide technical expertise in state-of-the-art techniques for construction, equipment installation, and project management. The individual will be responsible for the design or redesign of machine components to increase reliability and productivity, and to perform root cause analysis. Design and install engineered systems for projects associated with the facility. Provide technical assistance in the diagnosis of machine mechanical malfunctions, determination of necessary repairs and elimination of the causes of malfunctions.

 

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

·        Complete projects from design through commissioning

·        Prepare and present engineering project takeoffs for budgeting and procurement

·        Provide proper documentation as required to support maintenance and operation of new equipment

·        Capable of design of original concepts

·        Capable of designing systems within estimated budgets

·        Must work with vendors and contractors to complete assigned projects

·        Must coordinate with plant management groups to complete projects on schedule

·        Keep abreast of current trends and technology, and utilize this information effectively

 

Requirements:

·        Requires Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years experience

·        Must have good working knowledge of personal computers and the use of current desktop software.

·        Knowledge of Wire and Cable Industry a plus

·        Must possess strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·        AutoCAD experience required. Inventor experience preferred.

·        5 years experience IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING REQUIRED

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer with an Oil and Gas background or piping background to help us with our growing workload of oil & gas projects This position will be remote.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Work with project managers and the mechanical design drafting team

·        Engineer O&G facility piping systems utilizing 3D design software

·        Perform pipe and valve sizing and material specifications

·        Develop and coordinate pipe routing and layouts with the design drafting team

·        Interpret vendor data sheets and P&IDs to create accurate 3Ddesign models

·        Determine specifications and locations of equipment and fittings

·        Familiar with ASME B31 piping codes

·        Work with the Process team to develop P&IDs

·        Perform site visits to assess, document, and report on existing conditions

·        Review isometrics, schematics, and P&IDs for accuracy

·        Develop project scopes, assist in proposal writing, writing technical reports, and performing engineering studies

·        Attends client meetings, communicating concerns and changes with the client

·        Writes project specifications (non-technical and technical sections)

·        Coordinate with the project team and other disciplines to incorporate design information and client standards into the construction documents

·        Familiar with Caesar II stress analysis is a plus

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Experience with AutoCAD and 3D software design tools such as Plant 3D, CADWorx

·        Proficient with Microsoft Office software

·        Good writing, organization, and communication skills

Job Description

This position will own the concept and design of automated assembly fixtures and processes for new product lines. Working with external automation vendors to procure and build automated assembly solutions for new product lines. The position will work with the product development team to create robust automated assembly processes for NOVUX product line. Once machines and processes are complete, travel to the automation vendor will be required to accept the equipment. Once the equipment passes acceptance at the vendor, travel to the facility for installation and startup will be required.

How You'll Help Us Connect The World

·        Assist in taking new and modified product designs and create automated assembly concepts, designs, and processes.

·        Develop systems & processes for automated manufacturing,

·        Author statements of work for automation projects

·        Assist projects for the Assembly Production Team in the resolution of customer complaints, scrap reductions, efficiency problems, rate improvements, process deviations, sample runs, cost reduction projects, and the Preventative Maintenance Program.

·        Analyze highly automated production equipment for any manufacturing process issues and make recommendations and repairs on equipment that will result in improved processes.

·        Support engineering with all related process documentation.

·        Support and analyze present tooling and make recommendations to replace or rebuild such tooling with other types of materials or designs to improve or prolong tool life.

Required Qualifications for Consideration

·        Bachelor's degree in the related curriculum such as Mechanical Engineering

·        5+ years of relevant experience

·        3D CAD design skills (SolidWorks or Creo preferred)

·        Automated equipment knowledge
